The new Kerrang! magazine hit shelves today and it’s back page includes a plug for next week’s issue:
Hopefully, it should be a thorough feature as Kerrang’s editor James McMahon was at the Concrete and Gold playback;
… and Kerrang’s Production Editor went over to see the band at Chicago Metro.
As The Sky Is A Neighbourhood is her show’s ‘Hottest Record’ tonight, Annie Mac caught up with Dave on the phone in Hawaii. Here are the points of interest:
- The Sky Is A Neighbourhood was written while Dave was in Hawaii during the 2 week break beetween recording and mixing the album. Inspiration came as he star-gazed one evening.
“Not only do we need to figure out how to co-exist here on this planet but just as life that’s in the universe we all need to find our place. When you look up at the night sky you shouldn’t feel removed from it, you should feel a part of it.
- Dave looked back on Foo Fighters headline slot at Glastonbury.
“I just had fun. It turned into one of those gigs where we didn’t want to get off the stage because the energy was so right. It was great. We had a blast. “
- Foo Fighters kick off Live Lounge Month on September 1st so Annie asked if they’ve decided on their cover song yet.
“I think we do. We’ve been talking about a few different things but it just comes down to everybody getting together and figuring out which one sounds right. We’ll get there. We don’t plan ahead too much, we honestly don’t, like, if something feels right we just do it.”
