Today’s NME features Dave on the cover along with a full round-up of T In The Park. Here’s what NME had to say:
And here’s what the crowd thought:
Back in May Paul McCartney talked to Rolling Stone about his plans for a new album:
McCartney is also writing material for what he calls a “heavier rock” album. He has yet to pick a producer, but he says a recent conversation with Dave Grohl about how he recorded Foo Fighters’ latest LP in his garage lit a fire. “It sounds quite wacky, but it keeps it fresh,” McCartney says. “I love that — you get a crazy idea and go with it. You never know — I may run into a garage to make this other album.”
He adds with a laugh, “But it won’t be in Dave’s garage.”
But is Dave’s involvement in the project more than just advice?
Well, the current issue of Mojo is a Macca cover feature & includes a ’50 Reasons To Love Paul McCartney’ piece in which Elvis Costello talks about his relationship with Paul and finishes with talk of new material:
I’m not going to tell any secrets here because Paul hasn’t spoken about it, but my wife [jazz chanteuse Diana Krall] is in the studio with him right now. He’s cutting some of those songs he must have grown up with. I know he’s making this record with Dave Grohl as well. There’s so much openness and joy about what he’s doing now. He’s been in fantastic form.
